In light of plastic-free July we want to give away a Calon Wen box of treats to encourage reusing plastic and cleaning our beaches of waste.
With overwhelming amounts of disposable plastic being produced, plastic is becoming one of the most pressing environmental issues in today’s society.
Taking some time to clean up beach litter can result in many benefits that help improve our environment.
Benefits include:
Improving the coastal and ocean Eco-system by making sure none of the plastic and waste kills marine life or is toxic enough to disrupt it.
Create a safer environment by removing sharp pieces of litter than can easily hide underneath sand and cause harm and injuries.
Maintaining our natural treasures by keeping beaches clean and waste free for us to explore and enjoy together.
Boosting our economy by providing litter-free beaches for tourists and visitors to enjoy and return again and again.
Having the opportunity to enjoy the outside and get creative by up-cycling old materials to create beautiful new projects and artwork.
To take part in our competition, all you need to do is make an artwork creation related to cows and farming, made from recycled plastic and beach litter.
Although the competition is about raising awareness of beach litter we realise that a lot of people are still staying at home so you can still enter the competition by making artwork out of recycled plastic.
Post the picture of your creation in our comments section on this post and we will judge the winner and give you a prize hamper of Welsh Organic goodies.
This competition is for all ages, please get involved and help us clear our beaches and recycle and reuse plastics!
COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
There is 1 give away prize of a doorstep delivery of Welsh organic and artisan products. The hamper includes:
- 2x 200g Extra Mature Cheddar Cheese
2x 200g Mellow Creamy Cheddar Cheese
2 x 150g Rachel’s Strawberry Yoghurt
2 x 150g Rachel’s Peach Yoghurt
2 x 150g Rachel’s Cherry Yoghurt
1x 250g Slightly Salted Butter
1x 250g Unsalted Butter

Entrants can be any age to enter.

Submissions must be the artists’ own work, do not enter copyrighted art. Copyright infringement will be breached by the establishment who submits the work and not by Calon Wen.
Any artwork submitted may be used by Calon Wen in future marketing activities.
The winner will be informed by a reply to their comment plus a Facebook message within 7 days of the closing date and will need to respond within 7 days or a new winner will be chosen.
The winner will be announced publicly on Facebook.
Any entries after the closing date will not be counted.
