What our Farmers Say
Name:
John Wrench
When did you start farming?:
The family have had Beeches Farm since 1966, and my wife and I took over the farm in 2013 with the intention of going into dairy.
What inspired you to start/take over the family farm?:
I wanted to convert the farm from beef, sheep and arable to dairy as we decided we were too small for the economies of scale.
Why did you become organic?:
As we converted to dairy, we decided it was important to become organic for sustainability reasons and low food miles. We want to aim to be self-sufficient and do the best we can for the livestock and for the environment.
What do you do when you're not farming?:
Besides farming, I like tinkering with cars, watching motorsports and spending time with family and little Max, our border collie puppy.
